Licensing FAQ
Zine is distributed under the modified BSD license. This also affects the plugins bundled with Zine. External plugins may be distributed under different licenses but all code that goes into the Zine distribution-
If you want your code to be part of Zine chose one of these three licenses:
The copyright of the code is not reassigned to a legal entity if you contribute code, it remains to you. However to simplify tracking of copyrights the copyright header of the files should be (c) Copyright YEAR by the Zine Team and you should add your name to the authors file.
GPL / LGPL
Zine may not contain any GPL code. LPGL code has to be approved by the core developers before accepted into the distribution.
What can I do with Zine?
Whatever you want except:
- removing the copyright and license
- binary distributions have to ship the copyright and disclaimer in the documentation or other materials provided with the distribution
- the names of the contributors may not be used to endorse the product without prior written permission.
